ECONOMIC RESOURCES AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROFILE
Economic Resources and Community Development is a department unit within the First Nation. Within this department are the following programs:
· Natural Resources Unit
· Lands and Estates
· Capacity Development Office
· Utility Commission Office
· Employment and Training (Technology Centre)
· Job Development Office
· Membership
· Housing Development Office
Child Care Centre
The purpose of the Garden River Child Care Centre is to provide quality care and educational experiences for young children, infancy through school age, in an extended family style setting.
The Garden River Child Care Centre has been in operation since June 28, 1993. We are licensed by the Ministry of Education for the following four programs:
Public Works
SERVICES INCLUDE:
-service all reserve roads
-contracts with mto, great lakes, algoma fortes (brushing)
-satf programs, brushing, maintenance
-upgrading railway crossing
-echo river road restabilization project
-gravel and crushing operations
-seniors plowing of driveways
-fire protection services
-cemetery operations
-landfill operations, cleanup, garbage pickup
-water services
