Line/Prep Cook, Silver Creek Golf Course


POSITION: Prep/Line Cook
REPORTS TO: Qualified Cook/General Manager
WAGE: 16.32/hour (Based on experience)
Location: 104 Belleau Lake Road

SUMMARY: The Prep/Line Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, or other foods in the kitchen and Restaurant. The Prep/Line Cook may assist in ordering supplies, keeping records and accounts, pricing items on menu, or planning menu.

• Assisting with daily kitchen start up and shut down preparation including:
o Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies, re-stocking supplies when needed
o Inspecting/sanitizing food storage, preparation, and serving areas
o Inspecting/sanitizing all kitchen appliances, equipment, and walls
o Turning on/off ovens
o Preparing food for service (chopping vegetables, cutting meats, and/or preparing sauces)
o Maintaining logbook of food handling and refrigerator temperatures;
o Ensuring all refused food is disposed of promptly, using appropriate containers
• Consult with Qualified Cook to assist with menu planning
• May be required to assist with large banquets and/or tournaments;
• Complete daily sanitation, housekeeping duties and abide by all safety requirements of Health & Safety Rules and Regulations;
• Attend meetings as required;
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Post-secondary diploma in culinary arts, or currently enrolled
• Related work experience will be considered an asset;
• Must have Safe Food Handling Certificate;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
• Ability to lift/unload/move food supplies, up to 50 lbs.;
• Accept constructive feedback from coworkers and customers regarding food preparation, presentation and food tastes;
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or shift work including weekends;
• Must be willing to provide a CPIC as condition of employment and be free of criminal record;
• Preference will be given to GRFN Band Members.
